The AITAR Roster

We assess competence, not credentials. You don't need a law degree. Intelligence, integrity, and demonstrable skill are what matter.

Current Roster

Admission to the Roster confers eligibility for appointment to Tribunals constituted by Aluochier Dispute Resolution. It does not confer adjudicative authority unless and until a person is appointed to a Tribunal for a specific matter. This register is updated by Gazette Notice as admissions and changes are recorded. Last updated: June 2026.

Tier B | Senior Members & SRT Pool

Name & Designations Status Specialisations Region Admitted
Isaac Aluochier
S.Arb | S.Adj | Arbitral Fellow | CPM
Chief Adjudicator & President of Independent Tribunals
★ Founding Member
Tier B AITAR | AISTAR (Succession) | AIETAR (Electoral) | International Arbitration Rongo, Migori County Founding (2026)

Note: The Chief Adjudicator is a Tier B Roster member on the same terms as all other members. When sitting as a primary Tribunal member, his Determinations and Awards are subject to Supervisory Review Tribunal (SRT) proceedings under AITAR 2026 Rules 54A–59 on the same basis as any other Tribunal member. This mirrors the position of the Chief Justice of Kenya, who sits and votes as a judge of the Supreme Court while also holding the office of Chief Justice.

★ Founding Tier B Cohort — Now Forming. The Tier B pool is being established through the direct entry pathway under TPD 17/2026. Founding members receive permanent Named Founding Member status in the AITAR Digital Gazette, first-mover appointment priority across all AITAR, AISTAR, and AIETAR high-value and complex matters, and participation in Programme governance. Invitations have been issued to a select cohort. Expressions of interest from practitioners not yet in receipt of an invitation are welcome.

Why join the AITAR Roster?

Paid professional fees

Your fees are set by institutional tariff, collected by ADR, and paid promptly. Quality Assurance Retention (20%) is deferred; not lost.

Income Share Agreement (ISA) lets you pay AISTAR, AIETAR and ARP fees from future earnings; 15% of your fees up to a cap of double of course fee investment.

Constitutional authority

Your Determinations and Awards are enforceable under Kenyan law and internationally (New York Convention for arbitration).

Work remotely

Video hearings, digital case management; no daily commute. Serve justice from anywhere.

Be part of the solution

Help clear millions of dormant estates (AISTAR), reduce court congestion, and serve your community.

Who can join?

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How many appointments will I get?
We cannot guarantee a specific number. However, demand is real: millions of dormant estates (AISTAR), backlogged land/commercial cases (AITAR), and election cycles (AIETAR). Early members may receive 2 to 5 appointments in the first year. Annual fee waived if you receive zero appointments.

Q: What if I receive zero appointments in a year?
Your annual Roster fee is automatically waived; you pay nothing for that year. You remain on the Roster.

Q: Is training recognised by my professional body (LSK, ICPSK, etc.)?
We provide CPD certificates. Recognition is subject to each body's policies. We are engaging with professional bodies, but you should confirm directly.

Q: What is the Quality Assurance Retention (QAR)?
20% of your professional fee is held for 42 days after your Determination becomes final. If no review is filed, it is released to you. If a review is filed, it is held pending outcome. It is deferred payment; not a penalty.

Q: Can I join without a university degree?
Yes. We assess competence, not credentials. You may qualify through training or direct entry.

Q: How long does training take?
Self paced. Most candidates complete Tier I in 3 to 6 months part time.

Q: Why is the ISA currently available only for Tier I, the AISTAR Specialist Supplement, and ARP Registration?
The ISA is structured around earning predictability. Each of these three qualifications creates a relatively direct path from completion to paid appointments or representation fees: Tier I qualifies a member for general AITAR proceedings; the AISTAR Specialist Supplement opens the succession track, where backlog-driven demand is currently highest; and ARP Registration enables representative earnings immediately upon admission. Because income is realistically foreseeable in each case, the deferred repayment model is viable from the outset. We will extend ISA availability to Tier II, Tier III, and other specialist supplements as appointment volume data from the initial cohort matures and earning patterns become more predictable.

Q: What is the difference between Roster member and ARP?
Roster member = Tribunal member (decides disputes). ARP = Authorised Representative (appears on behalf of parties). You can be both, or either.

Q: What is the pecuniary jurisdiction for Tier A?
Up to KES 20,000,000 (or as specified in the Roster Policy). Tier B has unlimited jurisdiction subject to tiered PI insurance bands.

Q: Are hearings confidential?
No. Article 50(1) requires open hearings. Only limited Article 50(8) exceptions with written reasons.

Q: What are the PI insurance requirements for Tier B?
Under Gazette Notices 11 & 12/2026, Tier B members must maintain at least KES 1,000,000 coverage (Band 1). For matters above KES 5M, higher bands apply. See the gazette notice for details.
